Tricon Systems provides a powerful suite of reservation software for Tour Operators and Wholesalers in the travel industry. The system provides an end to end solution including CRM, reservations, operations, pricing, inventory control accounting and reporting. The Rex software connects with vendor systems and travel websites for real time reservations.

We are looking for motivated individuals that want to join a growing software team. The ideal candidate is a technical customer service representative who considers them self a self-starter, to be independent, dynamic, and conscientious with an entrepreneurial attitude.

You will get to

• work with third party development teams to assist integration with our APIs
• Provide end user support including writing SQL queries for issue resolution
• Create SQL queries for reporting
• Performs user testing on upcoming software releases
• Assists sales staff with technical issues concerning IT environment or software application

Ideally you will possess some or all of the following:

• Experience with MySQL and Linux (not required but a technical background is a must)
• Good working knowledge of computers
• Excellent work ethic

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Attention to detail and follow up
• Understanding of the travel industry (not required)

Salary based on experience. We are PC1 Compliant and a background check is required.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to gain more technical experience in databases, operating sytems etc. You could even move towards programming if this is where your interests lie.

Ideally the candidate is looking for full time. But consideration will be given to a bright, motivated student to work part-time until graduation.

Java Software Engineer (Entry Level Position)

Tricon Systems develops travel reservation software for Tour Operators and Wholesalers. Our flagship product Rex is a central reservation system (CRS) that hosts travel inventory and pricing, and also connects with various other reservations systems. The Rex CRS is used by call-centers, websites, and partner systems for real-time reservation processing.

The core of the position will ultimately have you implementing application features, performance tuning, and refactoring existing implementations to help maintain leading-edge SAAS offerings for the travel industry. To begin however, you will spend time on smaller, isolated areas of implementation, work in the mysql database and work in the Linux SAAS environment.

Areas of development involve application server processes in a Jetty/Servlet/Java/Hibernate/MySQL environment and Web server modules in a Python/Django environment.

As you gain knowledge and experience you will have the opportunity to:

• Advise on and sometimes implement system deployment options.
• Provide consulting services with customers, and occasionally provide second level support for technical issues.
• Work with third party development teams to assist integration with our APIs

Candidate must be able to work on their own. Be a self starter. Quickly understand new issues and challenges to effectively initiate solutions. Be friendly and knowledgeable in customer facing situations.

Ideally you will have some knowledge in some of the many skills listed below or you are interested in learning these skills..

• Java/J2EE, servlets, controllers, REST
• Interactive website implementation skills
• Understanding of SAAS deployments (software, hardware and network infrastructure)
• Interest in security and privacy, particularly those prescribed by PCI
• Python and Django
• XML
• SQL and database proficiency
• Javascript
• HTTP protocols
• JUnit, or similar, testing environments
